Peter Gammons suffers brain aneurysm, in surgery
The precious passion for the game is irreplaceable, as is the compassionate human being himself. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Gammo.

JUST BUY ME A MEAL SOMETIME..."I'M HUGE JERRY"
Jeff Frye. You're telling me he was a user? Troy O'Leary. Nomar. Varitek would probably wring your neck if you suspected him. Same with Trot - he spent hours and hours in the weight room. I'm trying to think back to my teams. Pedro. John Valentin. Even Mo Vaughn wasn't that big. I've just rattled off eight or 10 names. I can't imagine that any of them were doing anything. "
-Former Red Sox DH/1B Mike Stanley, on Paxton Crawford's steroid allegations.

The Pulse Of Red Sox Nation
Flashback, March 15th, 2006
Jon Lester, LHP, Boston.

"He's got everything. His stuff is tremendous, especially now that he's come up with the cutter. He'll dial it up all the way to 97 when he's in a jam. He's smart, but has a mean streak. He could be special."

Renter-Error Rips Rabid Red Sox Fans
"I don't think those fans have any confidence in their players. That's why they didn't win the World Series before. "

-Edgar Renteria on his Boston Borne throat ailment.
"The second week of the season they booed players who won the World Series for them. So I knew I had to do better. So I put more pressure on myself. I tried to do more than what I could do.”
-Obviously, E also stands for Error and Excuse.

Blame it on the rain, Edgar.
In a city where they actually care about baseball,
You and your child bearing hips aren't missed.

Red Sox Nation Says:

Edgar Renteria just couldn't handle the pressure. The Sox would be better off with a certain West Coast player that can...The O.C., of course. Admit it, you thought we meant Nomah, didn't ya? (Because you brought it up: Garciaparra would be a nice fit at 1b or as a corner OF next season, a much needed RH bat to align with Manny and Papi). With a farm system loaded with middle infielders, the Angels are willing to move Cabrera. With 2 1/2 years and only around $15 million left on his deal, the Sox should be very interested. Would Alex Gonzalez and a mid-level prospect get it done? Well, it wouldn't hurt to ask...

Sooo Stressful:

The O.C. thrived in E(6)dgah's personal pressure cooker that is Boston.

Rumors have Cabrera returning to the Red Sox. He has been his usual clutch self both

with the bat and in the field.

Jim Leyritz says he took HGH, 'greenies' - baltimoresun.com

First Red Sox Admits To Taking HGH and Amphetamines
Leyritz says he took illegal enhancers

Red Sox Nation Opinion:
Part time, fringe ex-players like Leyritz can freely admit that they cheated without backlash, as 25th men trying to get any edge that they can to arrive and stay in the big leagues can easily be rationalized. They have nothing to lose, and they almost get a pat on the back for admitting it. Confession comes easy for them, and is without repercussion. The stars don't have that luxury of understanding, and the repercussions are limitless.

Nomar's Better...Finally

COULD HE BE BACK IN BOSTON IN 2007??
THE SENSICAL ANSWER MAY SURPRISE YOU

Will Nomar's smile be coming to a Red Sox press conference near you?

Everybody in baseball knew that Garciaparra, if he could get past the injury problems that have limited him to 143 games the past two seasons, could be the same hitter that he always has been. He hasn't disappointed there. In 36 games after returning from an early-season strain of a rib-cage muscle, Garciaparra is hitting .357 with six homers, 36 RBIs, 16 doubles and a 1.031 OPS. In more than 150 plate appearances, he's struck out only five times.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/john_donovan/06/02/nomar.glove/index.html
Since May 5, when the Dodgers began the day at 12-17, L.A. has won 19 of 25 games. Garciaparra has played in every one and is hitting .390, with an OPS of better than 1.000.
"He's just so athletic. I think if you gave him six weeks and told him to go out there at any position, I think in six weeks he'd be an All-Star-caliber player. All he needs to do is to keep himself on the field."
-Ex-Sox/Current Dodgers Manager Grady Little

The Red Sox are lacking a potent right handed bat to protect Manny and Papi. Ladies and Gentlemen: Meet your 2007 starting Right Fielder-If the Sox and Nomar can overcome foolish pride and do what's best for the Boston Red Sox...
